Dominant Burnout
When making all the decisions is exhausting instead of the usual fun, and how you can make it easier for your domme
I love bossing people around. I think that the world would be a better place if everyone had to listen to me. One of the reasons I’m so into femdom is that it lets me direct others, like little pieces on my sadistic chessboard. But for the past few weeks I haven’t wanted to make a single decision. Not for myself, and not for my subs. I’ve got a classic case of dominant burnout.
I’ve had periods like this before, some lasting a few days and some lasting a few months. Some of my subs think that when I’m in a funk like this, they can pull me out of it by being extra submissive. By rolling over and making themselves more pliant. But that’s not what I want, and it just makes me feel worse for not being in the mood.
Even though I love domination, it needs to come from a place of desire or it feels like I’m performing a caricature of domination. I can’t ‘dominate’ when I’m exhausted.
Every plea for my attention just feels like a demand, even though I know it comes from a place of care. So, if I don’t want my subs to grovel when I’m in a funk, what do I want?
I want competence and care. Being the captain of the ship is fun. I like to steer. But I need to rest too. The very best subs know that service includes taking care of your domme even when she’s not commanding you. True service comes in the form of anticipating my needs, helping me relax, giving me massages, and just letting me be my exhausted, messy self for a while.
My best domination, the kind that comes from sadistic joy, cannot be forced. Supporting your domme means supporting her even when it’s not a fantasy.
